For Immediate Release:
Downtown playwright Jerrod Bogard has built a reputation for kicking sand in our faces with war-themed political dramas like the award-winning triptych, Plays for the Sunni Triangle. Now the dramatist is getting domestic and training his crosshairs on the living room of your average American double-wide trailer home. Wide Eyed Productions presents the world premiere of NOAH’S ARKANSAS, Bogard’s three act-family drama about a part-time dad learning to be a good father and good son while running out of time for both.
Bogard is a native southerner with a skill for dead-on dialogue and writing characters that you'd swear you’ve met-- if you’ve spent any time at a truck stop coffee counter. SoCal Magazine said, regarding the Los Angeles premiere of Bogard’s heroin fueled road-drama, Hugging the Shoulder, “he must hear dialogue rather than create it.” And reviewing his cycle of 5 one-act plays last year, Martin Denton wrote, “Bogard's intelligently observed voice makes him a welcome addition to the panoply of American playwrights, and certainly one to keep an eye on.”

Wide Eyed Productions was named a NYTheatre.com 2009 Person Of The Year. This is Wide Eyed’s third theatrical season in NYC, and Noah’s Arkansas is this prolific company’s tenth full-length production under founding artistic director Kristin Skye Hoffmann.
